Kintaki is a singer and composer from Congo, who lives in Holland since 1995. With his band he brings a combination of Afro-funk, soukous and rumba. Blaise Kintaki spent his childhood in Zaire, the current Democratic Republic of Congo. He attended music school and played trumpet and sang in the group Chem Chem Yetu. Later he played with the band OJLAI (Orchestre des Jeunes Laïques). When his compositions were censured by political reasons, Blaise Kintaki decided to leave Zaire. He went to Paris to continue his education and musical career, and wrote a number of songs in these years. In 1994 he decided to go to the Netherlands to try his musical luck over there. First with his band King Taky & Afro Roots, later renamed as Kintaki.
